Stone Island‘s experimental Shadow Project sub-label continues pushing the boundaries of its preferred textiles for Spring/Summer 2020, continuing to revamp its favored wrinkly nylon. Accompanying it is a bevy of select fabrics and treatments that range from those garment-dyed with Stone Island’s COMPACT treatment to textiles realized with a metallic sheen.
Boundary-pushing designs include cotton hoodies and pullovers emboldened with crinkly nylon panels, cargo pants made extra breathable by way of semi-transparent nylon and slip-on sneakers with extended tongues. Hidden pockets and stealthy zippers abound, with intarsia patterns, intricate dye and custom washes lending personality to the functional layers. Wrinkled jackets, convertible coats, zippered shirt-jackets and crumpled anoraks offer weather resistance to the lengthy shorts and gradient-hued knitwear — even the T-shirts sport engineered touches, with asymmetric chest pockets and seams executed in contrasting blue.
Recently, Stone Island crafted an exclusive set of reflective “Dust” garments for Luisiviaroma.
