Saucony Showcases Grid Web in Pop Art-Like OG Colorway

Succeeding a collaboration with KITH featuring two variations of Grid Web runners, Saucony brings back the eye-catching silhouette in an original colorway for the summer.

The American athletic brand highlights its retro runner, which includes white mesh overlays enshrouded with a black and blue web cage along the upper, elevated by modern elements. Hints of yellow, orange and blue hues amp up the overall sneaker, which infuses defined black lines for a bolder look compared to its predecessors. Saucony’s cushioning stands out with wave-like marks throughout the sole, with an emphasis on its signature Grid technology. Meanwhile, a neoprene detail overlaid on the laces harks back to the brand’s three dot emblem signifying boulders along a creek, displaying a balance between classic and contemporary design in the shoe.

The White/Grey/Blue Saucony will be available at stockists like Overkill starting on July 26. In other footwear news, be sure to check out official imagery of Kyrie Irving‘s Spongebob Squarepants collaboration.

Fortnite’s Lone-Awaited Giant Monster and Robot Battle Finally Happens

The long-awaited battle between Fortnite’s giant monster, Cattus, and a giant robot, Doggus, finally happened today (July 20). The dramatic battle was the only available mode, The Final Showdown, and players watched Cattus and Doggus appear from their respected corners to face each other to the death.

While Cattus attacked the vault, which was the place of last season’s big event, Doggus intervened by firing rockets at him. Cattus responded with what looks like to be a beam of acid but eventually, the two behemoths ended up tussling in the deep ocean. After a few brief seconds, Doggus reappeared from the sea but was immediately tackled by Cattus, losing an arm in the process. Doggus then freed itself and pulled some kind of power orb out of the vault, which gave him a huge power-up. Later the giant robot grabbed a giant sword from Mega Mall and killed Cattus, highlighting his victory with a dance and a salute, thus marking Fortnite’s end of season 9.

The build-up to the mega showdown started with a monster trapped in Polar Peak, where players could see its giant eye and hear its heartbeat. Cattus then broke free, stormed across the battle royale island and ending up in the sea, eventually showing signs that it made it ashore. Meanwhile, the drones around Pressure Plant started building a giant robot over the course of the season.

‘Watchmen’ Drops First Full HBO Trailer

The first full trailer for Damon Lindelof’s HBO Watchmen adaptation was released today (July 20) at the second day of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. HBO opted out of a Watchmen panel but did make the big unviel of the trailer.

The series will be led by Regina King and judging from what we already have seen from the previously released teasers, the show won’t follow Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ original graphic novel too closely. Last month, fans got a closer look at King’s mysterious character.

The new trailer did show signs that Doctor Manhattan might be part of the show plus featured Silk Spectre Laurie as an FBI agent and a headline noting the death of Ozymandias. The HBO series will run as a sequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ original book, with the show’s current events set ten years in the future.

Alongside Regina King are Jeremy Irons (as Ozymandias), Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson (as an FBI agent), and Jean Smart (as a new character named Agent Blake). Watchmen debuts this fall on HBO. Watch the trailer above.

‘The Walking Dead’ Reveals Movie Teaser & Season 10 Trailer

Back in November, showrunners for the The Walking Dead announced that a movie spinoff featuring Andrew Lincoln‘s character Rick Grimes was in the works. Rumors circulated that the aforementioned film would be the first of a three-part series, with production set to begin in 2019.

During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick revealed a teaser trailer for the unnamed project, while AMC confirmed it would be part of a series.

The 30-second clip shows a helicopter heading toward an ominous skyline and reveals that the film will be shown in theaters only. Produced by creator Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures, no official release date has been set yet. “For many years, fans have talked about things in the apocalypse they want to see and now we have an opportunity to explore those stories, beginning with the character who started it all, Rick Grimes,” shared David Madden, president of original programming for AMC.

TWD also premiered the trailer for its 10th season, airing on Sunday, October 6. The new season welcomes Thora Birch and Kevin Carroll to the cast, while Danai Gurira who plays Michonne shared during the panel that she would be exiting the series after this season.

Experience NASA’s Archives in ‘NASA – Past and Present Dreams of the Future’ Photobook

Fifty years after the Apollo 11 launched, British photographer Benedict Redgrove releases his nine-year-long photo project in a book titled NASA – Past and Present Dreams of the Future.

Coinciding with an exhibition which will be hosted this October, NASA – Past and Present Dreams of the Future details the technology and objects stored in NASA’s archives. It was shot, designed and written entirely by Redgrove, who tells first-hand stories from walking around the maximum-security NASA facility.

The book showcases over 200 pictures featuring items such as NASA’s space suits, space crafts and locations, both from the past and from current missions. His fascination with science fiction and space combined with his naturally minimalistic approach to photography has not only won his numerous awards, but also provides an unfiltered look inside a rarely-seen NASA facility and atmosphere.

Speaking in a press release, Redgrove speaks on the emotional impact of NASA’s pieces saying, “I wanted to explore the reaction we have to these machines and objects when we see them in fine detail, and what they mean to us as human beings. The image of the astronaut or spaceman has been with me ever since, as a sort of talisman to all that is great and good. They symbolize the explorer, the hero, the good character, the leader. The spacesuit takes on that character, the suit and the human become one entity, more powerful than either on their own. It’s now a symbol in its own right, and it’s become greater than the sum of its parts. It has reached an iconic stature that few objects can match. These objects have come to signify human achievements.”

Take a look at NASA – Past and Present Dreams of the Future in the gallery above and find out how to get your hands on one via Benedict Regrove’s Kickstarter campaign. The first 100 copies will also be signed.

In other news, LEGO has built a life-size astronaut to celebrate Apollo 11.
